Ex: Schindler’s Antiques, Charleston, South Carolina. Good heavy example by John Baker, Sheffield, recorded 1837 and later Baker and Son, 1850. 3 ½” main blade, reduced from repeated sharpening. Secondary blade broken in half. Iron frame with circular butt on which the knife will stand. Thick antler grip scales. Classic for the period and as imported to the south before the war and during the war by running the blockades. A well worn and used family knife from the Schindler collection.
