10” length with round base secured with wood pins, transitioning to octagonal section and retaining its original octagonal plug which continues the form. Original cord suspension stringing the horn and retaining the plug. The horn body carved with two fish and a bird, typical New England motifs and hatched panels, idled away, probably while waiting for a deer. Additional initials and a composite cipher. Wonderful untouched character with very dark patina. Probably the nicest horn we’ve offered in years.
