Representing a 17th century German/North European field piece. Finely made and intricately detailed. 12” length with 7 ¼” tapered barrel properly bored and vented. The carriage made in eight separate main pieces plus the trunnion straps, aiming rope winders and four rope hooks, separately applied. The wheels intricately detailed as iron shod with binding straps between the spokes as would cover the wood rim joints. Doubly appealing as these early cannons had a rugged individuality lacking in later production made weapons. As well, this model has a wonderful and genuine age character. Easily the center piece for a model cannon collection.
