Victorian or Edwardian copies of a C.1600 original. 20" height, the breastplate with medial ridge and flared base. Maker's mark to the left shoulder. The edges properly rolled over a wire core. Six sets of securing straps and buckles showing age and dry but amazingly intact and undamaged. The surface with mottled smooth light gray patina. Evidently made to be worn, perhaps by a guard unit. Good character.
