Nothing short of iconic and possibly the most imitated of Viking jewelry, this is the 1000 year old original. C.850-1050 AD. Silvered bronze, 2 5/8” inside dimension (easily fits a man). Broad back with concentric circle and triangle motifs and narrowing to the wolf’s neck. Each end with wolf’s head, slightly stylized in the Viking taste, with transversely modeled main behind. Our research produced no other genuine period examples and only archaeological drawings of originals. Truly one of a kind and fundamental to Viking culture.
