Gilt bronze. Round, 3/4just over ½” diameter (0.51”) and under ¼” length (0.24)” of rounded form. The use of beard rings by Viking warriors is well documented but surviving examples are rare. They were also worn in the hair around the ears. Surface with uniform heavy texture, evidently as made as the inside is smooth. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored.
