ANCIENT VIKING BEARD/HAIR RING, C.850-1050 AD

Eccentric round section 2.8mm thick. 0.69" outside diameter and 0.52" inside diameter. The front with roped motif. The use of beard rings by Vikings is well documented though very few genuine examples survive. These larger examples were also worn in the hair, around the ears.  Professionally refurbished for modern wear with the silver overlay restored. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
