5TH-6TH century, late Roman provincial. Dating to the period after the fall of Rome, referred to as the Dark Ages or Early Middle Ages. Red terra cotta, about 3 1/4” length, of tear form with slightly raised filler and stylized cross (Chi-rho) to the spout indicating Christian ownership. The body with a herring bone pattern all around verifying its construction without a nub grip. The surface very lightly eroded from burial and superior condition for these.
