This fine dagger is in unusually good preservation. It very likely came to market between 1980-84, the period starting with the disenfranchisement of the maharajas until enactment of heritage laws prohibiting the export of antiques. Its gold decoration is complete and bright and the mechanical damask patterning of the blade is elaborately figured and crisply defined. The grips are of bone, stained to simulate stone. 6 3/4" length blade.
