This example with 24 1/2" curved broad and narrow fullered blade, unadorned and hand hammered which is typical for American examples. English and European blades were machine rolled. Brass hilt with stirrup form guard. The pommel of urn form emulating the English, but with a flat upper band and slightly over large. The grip of reeded American walnut further establishes its origin. Grip with a few minor blemishes. Hilt tight with good patina. The blade bright with a little discoloration, slight bit of frosty oxidation and a few isolated very small blemishes. Classic Revolutionary War example in superior preservation.
