Iron, 11 3/4" length with ridged medial angular point and integral conical socket with welded bade and open sea. Faceted iron nut at the transition. Shows its age with surface texture and patina, but distinguished by having the rim of the socked well preserved, as these invariably were preserved by peasants who used them on farms, hammering the sockets when used as wedges. This example is evidently arsenal preserved and the only one we have seen.
