MEDIEVAL EUROPEAN CROSS, 1200-1500 AD

The High Gothic Period following the Crusades. Gilted bronze, just over 1 1/8” (1.15”) height with the suspension ring. The cross beam centered with trefoil beam terminals forming “crutches” from the Jerusalem cross which made it five crosses in one, commemoration the five wounds of Christ. Low rounded section front, and the back flat. Professionally refurbished with the gilt surface restored, on an 18” modern gilted neck chain. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
