Forged iron, 3 1/8 (3.14”) length. The top tapered, of rectangular section form over an elongated pyramidal form spike. Used to straighten sword blades, damaged in battle. The spike was drivel into a log or tree and the blade edge hammered against the top. Considerable effects of use in its working life.
