The period of conversion to Christianity for Vikings. A remnant of the old pagan mythology in the form of an anatomically accurate heart form, nearly obscured by large spirals over a trapezoid. The spirals as well, are helixes that had mystical significance to Vikings. A curious throwback to Viking pagan religion, elements of which were blended with Christianity. Such “transitional” elements were common and persist even today in the form of superstitions and beliefs in the occult. The form is unmistakably Viking, with the surround identical to earlier examples and the heart form found in Viking period jewelry as well. It is made by the open face mold technique and thicker than its pure Viking predecessors. Just under 1” width, professionally refurbished with the silver surface restored, on a Sterling silver chain for modern wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
