German import by Clement & Jung as purchased by both sides at the beginning of the War. Standard pattern, Peterson #32 with three bar brass hilt showing mottled patina. Grip excellent, a little dry. Blade smooth with original cross polish, the surface with gray patina and minor blemishes only. Scabbard with two dents toward the tip. Some storage surface rust growth on original surface. This pattern is much rarer than the 1860 cavalry saber.
