So-called Blücher pattern as it was this sword which armed the Prussian Cavalry, under Blücher at Waterloo. Based on the British 1796 model. Iron hilt with saddled back strap and ribbed grip made without wire. Left langet with unit designation. 33” broad fullered blade bright with original cross polish. Scabbard quite bright with three dents, two of which are identifiable bullet impacts. A massive sword, just under five pounds in its scabbard! Fine example of an iconic pattern.
