Hand-made in New England cottage industries. Tiny, just over 1/4"" cubes with black inked pips. See Collector’s Illustrated Encyclopedia of the America Revolution, Neumann, p.129. Popular with both American and English soldiers as they were easily stored in field kits and provided entertainment in camp. English examples were surcharged with red-crowned ciphers. Excellent.
