European, 14th-15th century. Bronze, 1 1/8” diameter domed form with beaded edge. Made to hang in a row from the reins of a charger and would jingle and clank drawing attention as well as warning pedestrians. The back with two small lugs to keep it from “cupping” against the leather which would produce a dull thumping sound. Probably gilt originally. Good patina and could be worn.
