Forged iron just under 4 3/8” in length. The thickened medial point with the angled bottom on the flared seat. Tapered tang. The thick section is indicative of a war arrow, able to penetrate the protective thick leather garments which, in the period, served as armor. Similar examples of Viking tanged arrowheads are preserved at the Swedish History Museum, Stockholm. Excellent stable excavated condition.
