Early 20th century. Exceptionally showy example, 16 1/2" sheathed with amber composite grip mounted with engraved white metal crest and base set with colored mounts. The scabbard matching. 8 1/2" s.e./d.e. blade with pronounced steps or notches at the transition points. The wearing of the jambiya was a sign of manhood. This example represents an extreme expression, probably for a large man, judging from its size.
