4 ¾” length of characteristic Hellenistic form with circular body and extended spout. Radial decoration. The bottom with crisp makers signature. Mold made in two pieces which were assembled with liquid slip (clay slurry) which provided a smooth colored finish and also served as the adhesive bonding the two pieces together when fired. These were fired in large batches and in this case, a stack collapsed displacing the top and attaching fragments from the one above it. It was fired in that state resulting in the specimen here which was undoubtedly discarded and rediscovered 2000 years later! Very interesting and personal insight.
