Combining two elements with supernatural significance to Vikings, the use of pure copper and the helix (spiral). A ring of massive proportions tapering from the over ½” width middle to the terminals, wound in a coil with the ends overlapping and forming two full circles plus a bit. The combined width is 0.88” and the inside diameter is 0.60”. Made of pure copper with wonderful mottled patina, this evidently was bent from a straight piece as there are small tool marks on the tips. Possibly related to the ringjarn, iron rings which represented enemy and were thrown at large stones, as shown on the Lärbro stone in Gotland, Sweden, to break them, ritually “killing” the enemy. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
