Plated bronze, size 10 ¼ with tall oval bezel mounted with a cabochon cut. The shoulders incised with a hatched stylized foliate motif. Wear to the plating, otherwise excellent for the period. Ex: Schindler’s Antiques, King Street, Charleston, Purchased about 1980. It was common for cavalry troopers to remove their rings before battle as they marginally compromised the purchase of the sword grip.
