The longbow, iconic to Welsh archers performed most notably at the Battle of Agincourt (1415) where decisively delivered the most famous victory over the French, of the Hundred Years War. “Henry V's army of around 8,000 was outnumbered by as much as five to one, yet 500 nimble-fingered Welsh archers were able to cut the heavily-armored French knights to ribbons”.
