Meiji Period for soup or rice. C.1900-10. 4 5/8" diameter. Bowl and lid both of rounded form with flared foot and grip. Butterscotch body-color outside and a darker shade within. The top decorated in bamboo leaves and flower buds in gold. All gold decoration is true gold in a lacquer matrix. Produced by the true lacquer (not paint) process which takes months of layering and drying. Additional details to the purchaser. A few small flaws to the finish as expected for its age.
