Detached head, 16 3/8” length. Thick medially ridged leaf shaped point and faceted conical socket. Glossy gray patina with a few small dents. The Congo was the center of the slave trade at the time. Slavery and ivory were the two primary occupations. Slaves were sold to ready buyers on the East coast and well as domestically for labor and human consumption (cannibalism).
