Zulu War period, pre 1879. 28 1/2 length. Tapered haft with flared butt and spherical head dished on top and bottom for the sharing of snuff, a bonding ritual among warriors. Mottled patina and superficial abrasions along the back of the haft. The head with a shrink crack as usually found.
