18th century. Displaying the features and artistry which inspired the English makers to imitate the production through industrialization. Just over 4 3/4" diameter of very delicately scalloped form with a scalloped rib in the well echoing the edge. Low raised foot. The body perfectly formed in delicate detail. The edge with blue band of repeated sunburst in square motif initially suggesting transfer technique, but every module hand executed and obviously the inspiration for that later technique. Six lovely blue on white floral displays below, each with color accents which introduce the lovely central floral display. Perfect condition and fine quality. A delightful precursor of the English porcelain industry which emulated the contoured form, color palate, and subject of its Chinese competitors. All that aside, a lovely 18th century treasure.
