Mexican War period, these served into the Civil War as well. Brass hilt with shield shaped langets below the bow tie form guard. Full relief helmet form pommel. Ribbed bone grip. 25 3/8 d.e. blade of broad fighting section. Blade shows original finish mixed with finely dispersed discoloration specks only. Hilt shows dark patina with one check and few small chips to the grip.
