bars and eagle. Inset proof at the forte
and reverse with B. Pasquale &
Co. San Francisco retailers name.
Three bar hilt and finger fluted horn grip. Original plated scabbard with its double
interlocking figure 8 suspension chain.
Chain plating worn, scabbard plating about 98% complete. Blade crisp with a few tiny flakes only. Hilt excellent. Good early example. Pasquale was founded in 1854 and is noted as
the first outfitter of the West and served the later years of the Great Gold
Rush.
