Probably dating to the 1925 war with
France
or earlier. Brass hilt with incised
decoration and colored pique inlaid black horn grips. 6 7/8 blade with triple star motif. Incised foliage decorated brass
scabbard. The dagger and scabbard chrome
or nickel plated overall, probably to be sold as a souvenir during WWII. The hilt plating worn. The blade plated over tool marks and a little
spotty pitting attesting to its earlier use.
