Large proportions, 14 1/2 curved blade. Black horn grip of stylized pig head form
with incised geometry to the right side.
Dark wood scabbard with fish tail terminal and incised line borders. Five fine woven split rattan bands. Blade quite crisp with some frosty oxidation
and tool marks. The hilt and scabbard
apparently of Ifuago workmanship, showing the fine deep color and encrustation
acquired from decades in the smoke filled house rafters. The pommel form as found on Ifuago palm nut
boxes. Wonderful Ifuago character and
craftsmanship.
