From a disciple of the Mahdi. Hilt and scabbard decoration of large trade beads as above with simpler decoration and identical age character. Especially nice treatment to the beaded edge of the scabbard throat. 7 1/4 blade etched with foliage and fluid calligraphy at the forte. The point with a characterful faced snake. Both sides matching and crisp with light surface staining only.
