LURISTAN BRONZE DAGGER OR SHORTSWORD C.900 BC.

 Classic well documented form with thick tapered blade decorated with incised lines.  Stepped base and flared grips with deep insets each side for bone or wood inlay, now perished.  Flared eared pommel.  Good green patina with active bronze disease, a progressive deterioration of the surface.  The process for stopping it is well documented involving repeated washes over time.  It has been kept inactive by freezing and can be restored at your leisure.  Value stabilized, about $850.00.
