Providing an interesting insight in Worcester production and history. Dr John Wall sold the Worcester factory in 1783 to Thomas Flight marking the end of the "First Period" and the use of the underglaze crescent mark. Thomas Barr joined the company as partner in 1792 and for a few years, its works were marked with a hand scribed B on the bottom. This creamer was made by Flight and Barr, in those first years, after which an impressed B was used. In form and decoration, it matches the cup and under bowl above and survives as a set.thus establishing the continuity of the pattern through three ownerships of the Worcester factory. Matching excellent condition.
