9th-11th century AD, Gilt bronze with well rounded face. 3.0mm width, size 6 1/4. Cast with a central core to distribute the metal and heat. The core then laboriously removed by hand and the remnants are visible. Surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored. Good wearable size.
