8th-9th century AD. Ribbed spherical form, just under ½” (0.46”) diameter. Well preserved with wear and considerable blue glaze remaining. Vikings valued beads over gold and have been known to take beads as ransom or tribute to call off raids. Wonderful Viking relic and a fine centerpiece for modern jewelry creation.
