Forged iron 14 ¼” width with central wedge section blade to produce a smooth surface on  a plank. Tapered tangs for two wood handles. See The Mastermyr Find, A Viking Tool Chest from Gotland, p.13 #54 for similar examples found in Gotland Sweden. That find is a tool chest with carpenter’s tools intact. These would have been used to carve a semi-circular hollow in wood such as for making a wood bowl. One of only three examples in private hands known to us.
