Classic heart form. 7/8" (0.87”) height plus the suspension loop. Central high domed heart in its fully evolved form with cusped top, beaded surround and stepped base forming a border. The cusp bridged with another forming a pierced heart within a heart! The sixth points with radials, forming a saltire. That feature evidently had spiritual significance, now lost. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature.
