One of a set of three. 18th-19th century. 91 3/8” length with elaborate bronze head comprising central spear point with chiseled details including quadrisected circle and line and scroll borders. The medial with device made in six separate pieces, depicting an abstracted form, perhaps from the Chinese Zodiac solar-lunar-jovian calendar. The extremities with trailing ribbon like streamers. Below, a full modeled horned dragon head on the blade base. Finely cast base mount like an urn in two stages. Black lacquered shaft. Fine patina throughout and undamaged.
