Wood hilt of especially flamboyant form with very large disk pommel, the edge with tack decoration. Flared shoulder base sheathed in copper and decorated with trade tacks 13 5/8" blade, forged in two stages. The tip flared, a modified form of the Konda executioner's swords. Blade medial finely chiseled in elongated chevron panel with raised edges and parallel grooves flanking a stylized fish form. Shows age, with shrink crack to the hilt. Blade crisp with dark patina. Undoubtedly used for the executions and dismemberment of slaves for the human consumption trade.
