16 1/2” x 2 1/4”. Wood covers of coffin lid shape with raised rectangular medials and angled edges. Single string and 134 palm leaf leaves, each inscribed both sides in Sanskrit (?). The inside of one cover pencil identifies and “Vidura Jalakage (?) 134 leaves.” Exterior shows great age, wear and encrustation, typical for Tibetan items. The leaves excellent. Probably came out of Tibet in the 1950s along with the Dalai Lama and his followers. Ex. Christie's London.
