Forged iron, 8 5/8” length with wedge section blade proportioned for fighting. Integral bolster and exposed edge tang for scale grips secured with three pins (holes only remaining). Iron crown form pommel. Knives such as this were carried by commoners who were prohibited from owning knives with guards. They were ostensibly work knives but made with thinner blades which were more maneuverable and better suited for slashing and often carried in the boot.
