19th century. One-piece hilt of speckled teal green jade, carved as a horse head with a mane to the left. Natural cleavage to the muzzle, small flake above the right eye, and the ears intact as rarely found. 7 ½” curved blade, medially ridged both sides, shows mottled black staining and isolated pockmarks but substantial and could be repolished.
