Late 18th century. Rounded iron skull with six panels, each with four seated nobles and foliage. Gold foliage divider panels and broad silver highlighted calligraphy band around the rim. Twin plume holders, diamond section top spike, adjustable nasal bar and ten peak mail fall. Soft brown patina throughout with the decoration quite crisp. The surface with some spotty dark staining and frosty oxidation to the calligraphy band. The gold and silver both weak but mostly intact.
