18th century. 12 ¼” height of characteristic form (Stone p.108) with stylized floral border. The field in six floral vignettes with gold floral decoration to the borders and central motifs. Chiseled foliage throughout. The gold a little weakened from age wear but consistent. Chiseled decoration is much more labor intensive than the more common etched decoration and required advanced skills.
