The base with museum stamps C35 and WCC for the Rotunda at Woolwich Common, London, which was dissolved in 2001. 80 ½” overall on red/maroon painted haft (worn). The head with glossy finish over oxidation speckles. Items deaccessioned from the Rotunda appeared on the English market regularly in the 1980s, particularly in Birmingham.
