Early 19th century. Made from a single piece of hide with a recessed stitched seam, shaped like a ball with curved flared lip pouring spout. Well pierced iron suspension ring. Incised decoration throughout in hatched bands and two panels of beasts. Retaining its original shape and detail with good mottled patina.
