Copies of Spanish cup hilted rapiers c.1650-1700. Probably dating to the Gothic Revival and Baronial architecture which began in the 1880’s and peaked in the 1920’s. Bradd hilts with pierced shell guards. The grips with high relief figures of nude male and female. 33 ¼” straight blades decorated both sides with scrolling foliage flanking battle scenes of mounted Arab warriors. Showing genuine aging. The hilts perhaps gilt originally, now faded to good patina. Very impressive display as a crossed pair.
