Brass hilt with crowned fleur de lis to the right side. shell guard with a crowned P S royal cypher.  29 3/4” broad, triple fullered blade of heavy fighting form. The base with a coat of arms featuring addorsed dragons supporting a shield. Reverse with ALEX COPPEL SOLINGEN maker’s mark. A well preserved fighting sword in need of a little research. The fleur de lis was used by many countries. The arms are specifically identifiable and the royal cipher will identify the monarch and reign, adding specificity to the dating.
